It is intended to be used as a screening test and as an aid in the diagnosis of infection with syphilis. Any reactive specimen with the syphilis antibody test must be confirmed woth alternative testing methods such as ELISA or PCR. Relative sensitivity 100%, Relative speciticity 99.58%, accuracy 99.71%, for in vitro Diagnostic Use Only.

How fast is a rapid syphilis test?
The result should be easy to interpret and ideally, avail- able in 30 minutes. Most rapid syphilis tests are made in a dipstick or cassette format. Non-treponemal tests such as the RPR can be considered rapid tests as they can provide a result in less than 10 minutes.
When is the most accurate time to test for syphilis?
While the average incubation time of syphilis is 21 days, symptoms can appear anytime between 10 and 90 days. Syphilis Window Period: 3-6 weeks in general; but, most resources recommend getting tested 90 days after exposure.
